Vee of MD is now
Power Cat Marine Group
By Jo Schloeder
Twin Vee of Maryland, the power catamaran dealer with locations in Annapolis, Edgewater and Ocean City, is changing its name to Power Cat Marine Group. According to general manager Peter Jones, the name change is a direct result of the growth of this two-and-a-half-year-old business, as well as the growth in the industry.
"Power cats represent the fast growing segment in the power boating industry," said Peter, "The ride sells itself," he added.
Jones explained that catamaran or vee-shaped multi-hulled boats have become the boat of choice for a number of reasons. First, the catamaran ride is much softer because they don't have a large, round bottom to slam against the water. Also, a catamaran's twin hulls focus the buoyancy around the outside of the boat, rather than in the middle, creating much greater stability-The two narrow hulls also generate about one-third as much drag, making the boat more efficient. Finally, the hulls place the engines farther apart, increasing maneuverability.
And, explained Jones, Twin Vee's don't have a liner, which adds 30 to 40 percent to the weight of the boat. The light weight of a catamaran give you better performance, better fuel efficiency and higher speeds under equivalent power. They are a stable, dry ride in the heavy chop, as well as a shallow draft boat to get into the skinny water.
Power Cat Marine Group offers Twin Vees from 10-feet to the brand new 36-foot model, as well as Sea Cat catamarans. They power the boats with Suzuki, Mercury and Honda outboard engines. To get the boat to the ramp, Power Cat sells Performance,
MagicTilt and Float-On All-Aluminum Trailers. Naturally, they offer everything you need make the ride smooth, including full service, parts and accessories departments.
If all that isn't enough to make you take a test ride, consider Twin Vee's lifetime hull
warranty, covering any structural defects, cracks, etc. It's no wonder
Twin Vee's are considered the strongest hulls in the industry.
